SATU PENDEDAHAN BRANI MATI. SABOTAJ PALING BESAR DALAM SEJARAH NEGARA.

IKUTI kupasan Blog Sabah: Ground Zero DISINI siapa dalang sebenar pencerobohan Tentera Sultan Sulu ke Lahad Datu Sabah.

Ringkasan
1. Amerika terlibat
2. Terdapatnya double Agent pada kerajaan Aquino
3. Pengelibatan Anwar Ibrahim
4. Amalilio merupakan sebahagian daripada rancangan ini

The incident involving a large group of Sulu warriors (Royal Army of Sulu) currently locked in a standoff with Malaysian authorities at Lahad Datu in Sabah is not merely about the Sultanate of Sulu enforcing its ancestral claims on Sabah.

Do not be misled as this current unfolding of events is the beginning of a much sinister ploy.

Sabah is ground zero in a conspiracy perpetrated by very powerful entities and the Filipino Muslims rebels currently at standoff with Malaysian authorities are merely pawns in a game where lives are ‘meant’ to be lost for a deceptive cause.

Claims that Sulu warriors landed in Sabah because the Sulu Sultanate was left out of the recent peace process brokered by Malaysia between Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the Philippines Government is NOT REALLY THE FACT!

The following are some facts and evidence that reveal why Sabah is Ground Zero:

1. The SMOKESCREEN ?

This ship – USS GUARDIAN – ran aground in Tubbataha Reefs in Philippines on Jan 17, 2013.
The USS Guardian, after it ran aground in Tubbataha Reefs is pictured on Jan. 17, 2013, by the Armed Forces of the Philippines Western Command.

This ship was ‘deliberately’ made to sail off-course. Imagine with the latest equipment on board and having sailed through the same route many times, this minesweeper ship was unable to differentiate the reefs from the waters.

Despite being warned repeatedly by Tubbataha Reef Marine Rangers, the USS Guardian commander refused to listen and stop.

He even ordered his crew to get into ‘battle position’ when the rangers tried to get on board to make a routine inspection on the ship after it ran aground.

“Until today, it remains a mystery: Why were they even near Tubbataha? The Sulu Sea is so vast, and it takes hours from Puerto Princesa to reach it. Why couldn’t they see it when they had all the state-of-the-art maps and navigation systems?” asked Jose Ma. Lorenzo, World Wildlife Fund-Philippines chief executive officer.

THIS is what Philippines Department of Transportation and Communication SecretaryJoseph Emilio Abaya said of the US Sailors on board USS Guardian:
“Some say they probably enjoyed too much of an RnR in Subic, some said error in digital charts, some say they were doing a different thing there on their own…..”

In other words, the Secretary was trying to imply that USS Guardian was running its own 'clandestine' operation.

(For further read on the USS GUARDIAN issue, please go to:http://globalnation.inquirer.net)

Could it be that this incident created a smokescreen for some other activities to take place in the Sulu Sea and adjoining Celebs Sea?

* The date of the incident was Jan 17, 2013.

* Members of the self-styled Royal Army of Sulu invaded Sabah on Feb 11, 2013, which is 24 days later.

There was a flurry of activities involving US ships as well as rescue and salvage ships in the Sulu Sea since the Jan 17 incident at Tubbahata Reef region.

As a matter of fact, the crew on board USS Guardian were quickly rescued and whisked away to a Japan safe zone. Why were they not brought to Philippines which is the most logical thing to do?

Could it be that all this activities that ensued in the Sulu Sea could have provided an opening for hundreds of speed boats with Sulu warriors to sail into Sabah undetected?

Something is just not right with the USS Guardian.

2. The BACK CHANNEL MAN aka DOUBLE AGENT

Philippines Senator Antonio ‘Sonny’ Fuentes Trillanes IV, a former Navy Lieutenant is the man who knows exactly what is going on Sabah.

Trillanes IV (born 6 August 1971 in Manila, Philippines) is a Philippine military and political figure. (You can find his details in Wikipedia). He is best known for his role in the 2003 Oakwood Mutiny when he and a group of 321 armed soldiers took over the Oakwood apartment towers in Makati City, lined them with bombs and threatened to demolish them because they were tired of corruption in the army and called for the ousting of then-President Gloria Aroyo. He is an incumbent Senator of the Philippines, the first Philippine Senator to be elected while in jail.

Now, he has called on President Aquino’s administration to make known its policy on the country’s claim to Sabah and on the standoff between Malaysian security forces and a group of armed warriors loyal to Sultan of Sulu in the eastern Malaysian territory.

Trillanes was President Aquino’s backchannel link to Beijing at the height of tensions between the Philippines and China over a territorial dispute in the West Philippine Sea (South China Sea) last year.

Trillanes, as told to reporters in Manila recently, is the person responsible for directly briefing President Aquino on the Sabah situation.

But some in Philippines claim he is a double agent.

He is known to get things done by playing to Washington’s tune. When he was advising Aquino during the tensions with China, he did his job fairly well by getting sound advice from the Americans while sweet talking to the Chinese at the same time.

Leaked diplomatic cables reveal that one or two American special agents will always be trailing Trillanes each time he met with top Chinese Government officials, be it in China or Manila, during the crisis negotiations.

And the Chinese probably knew it too, but they were busy playing their own games with the Americans and the Filipinos.

Regarding the standoff issue in Sabah, Trillanes was quoted as saying: “It was high time the Department of Foreign Affairs articulated the government’s policy on Sabah. Until then we’ll have to withhold further comment because this is a very sensitive issue and it involves the lives of our countrymen in Sabah”.

It appears that Trillanes knows that some lives could be lost in the Sabah standoff.

3. Toothless Tiger Grows FANGS

Sultan Jamalul Kiram III has been a toothless tiger for a very long time as he is plagued by a lot of problems, from family infightings, health issues, financial difficulty and rivals claiming his throne, more than a dozen to speak.

One just has to read www.fakesulusultans.com to catch a glimpse of how many ‘sultans’ are claiming the one throne in Sulu.

Jamalul Kiram knows his kingdom is not safe in his hands, and he suffers from liver ailment as well as other illnesses, and lives in constant fear that someone will poison him to claim his throne.

But then, suddenly, the toothless tiger Jamalul Kiram grows fangs and claws.

He orders his troops, helmed by his crown prince, to invade Sabah knowing very well that the full might of the Malaysian army will be upon his men.

How did this happen? Any by the way, Jamalul Kiram is still undergoing treatment at a Manila hospital for liver ailment.

This begs the question, who is behind Jamalul Kiram’s renewed vigour in claiming Sabah?

Who gave money to the Sulu warriors aka ROYAL SULU ARMY to buy speed boats, fuel, food, clothes and weapons that include M16 and M14 rifles, M16 carbines and M203 grenade launchers?

This only means one thing –

SOMEONE IS BANKROLLING THE ENTIRE OPERATION.

And the troops that came in via sea were taken in and cared by those living in Sabah, reinforcing the fact that sleeper cells have been activated.

Sleeper cells are activated when orders are given to them together with funds as proof of an assignment’s authenticity.

4. Sulu Royalties seek AMERICAN help to claim Sabah

While poor old Sultan Jamalul Kiram is having it hard in the Philippines, six of his close relatives and heirs are living the American dream. They reportedly have become American citizens.

Upon receiving news that their patriarch is mounting a challenge to reclaim Sabah, Jamalul Kiram’s relatives, nephews and nieces are very excited.

They are so excited with the prospects of reclaiming Sabah that they now want the United States and President Barack Obama to help Sultan Jamalul Kiram with his claim.

Former Senator Santanina Rasul, one of Jamalul Kiram’s relatives and heirs who lay claim over Sabah, told journalists that one of her sons, Abraham Rasul Jr is an American citizen and has right to claim his share in the inheritance of Sabah.

5. Did PKR duo find facts on CONMAN in Manila or did they learn more?

In early February 2013, two PKR politicians from Malaysian went to Manila to probe on Aman Futures Group conman Manuel Amalilion who defrauded Filipinos of 12 billion pesos in a Ponzi scheme.

The duo told Malaysians that they are going to Manila on a fact finding mission on Manuel Amalilio and his Aman Futures Group.

They took a Friday night flight, stayed in Manila on Saturday and returned to KL the following day.

The Question is - why did they go to Manila on a fact finding mission when almost 99% of victims swindled by Amalilio were in the Mindanao and Visayas regions?

After all, Manuel’s office and centre of operations was in Pagadian City, a city that is1,113km away from Manila.

What were they actually doing in Manila?

Did they meet a CIA agent there under instructions from Anwar Ibrahim’s American contact, or did they meet an agent of Nur Misuari, leader of rebel group Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF)?

Or did they meet an agent of Sultan Jamalul Kiram?

After all, the Sultan is undergoing dialysis treatment in a hospital in Manila.

Indeed, hours after landing in Manila, they did meet someone who resembled a special agent.

It’s no secret that PKR boss has very close ties with the CIA as well as Philippine rebel groups, and is in a position to help US set up a Navy base in Sabah should his coalition form the new federal government (Readhttp://sabahdigadai.blogspot.com).

6. The MANUEL AMALILIO – SULU SULTANATE CONNECTION

Before we explain further, please read the court proceeding in Philippines as reported in:http://www.sunstar.com.ph/manila/local-news/2012/11/28/pagadian-mayor-wife-charged-syndicated-estafa-255647

Manuel Amalilio was under the radar of Philippines internal security agency for supporting terrorism activities.

After all, he took thousands of Filipino Muslims to the dry cleaners by promising to double up their money with his preposterous scam.

Many Filipino Muslims supported him because he projected a greater cause, which is to make the poor Filipino Muslim community wealthier.

He was often seen praying five times a day and making frequent quotes from the Holy Quran while speaking to investors.

“Philippines Justice Secretary De Lima confirmed the National Bureau of Investigations received intelligence information stating that the multi-billion peso windfall from Aman's (futures group) pyramiding scheme is being used to finance the activities of a terrorist group”.

The above is the actual quote from justice secretary Leila Magistrado De Lima as reported in Philippines media after syndicated estafa charges were filed on Pagadian City Mayor Samuel Co and his wife Priscilla Ann in the wake of the Aman Futures Group Scam end of last year.

That is the actual reason why Malaysian police scrambled to stop the deportation of the conman at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport on Jan 25, 2013.

Manuel Amalilio was in a position to provide Malaysian security forces with valuable information on terrorists/rebel groups such as Abu Sayyaf, MNLF and the Royal Sulu Army that could threaten the security in the region.

So despite knowing it would turn out to be a public relations disaster, Malaysian Authorities proceeded to block Manuel’s deportation.

The backlash received by Malaysian Authorities was severe but nonetheless, it was justifiable and worth the trouble.

During interrogation, Manuel has spilled the beans on who he was feeding the money to, and it appears that he is not only a conman, but an enemy to the state of Sabah.

Dozens of payment from these banks (list provided by Philippines Justice Department) indicate that they could have found its way to the hands of terrorist and rebel groups that wanted to derail the Bangsamoro Framework Agreement for peace.

Among the banks covered by the freeze order (on Aman Group’s assets) were the Land Bank of the Philippines; Bank of the Philippine Islands; Banco de Oro; Unibank; Allied Bank; Bank of Commerce; BPI Family Savings Bank; China Banking Corp.; Citibank, NA; Development Bank of the Philippines, East West Bank; Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank Corp.; Metrobank; One Network Bank; Orix Metro Leasing and Finance Company; Philippine Bank of Communication; Philippine Savings Bank; RCBC; Security Bank; Standard Chartered Bank; Union Bank; UCPB; and Philippine National Bank.

7. The UNSEEN HANDS

The standoff in Sabah, and its timing, validates the fact that powerful, unseen hands are behind it.

There is a resemblance to many uprisings in the world.

Through highly specialised covert operations, the Government of many countries have fallen.

And often, these clandestine operations are carried out by private defence contractors and mercenaries appointed by the US Government.

The situation in Sabah is no different.

8. The SPOILS

Sabah, it appears, is a prized catch.

For the American, there is a dire need to enhance and strengthen their military presence in the Southeast Asia region, especially to contain China’s rising power.

After Philippines closed its doors on US Clark Naval Base, America has since been looking for another base, ideally in the South China Sea.

Getting its ‘hands’ on Sabah by backing a new Government that will bend to its wishes will be the ideal scenario for US.

There will be a lot of spill-over effects.

It should also be noted that Sabah has oil and gas reserves as big as Kuwait’s.

Besides, there are abundant natural resources and vast mineral deposits such as coal, gold, copper, limestone and etc.

As for some Opposition politicians in Malaysia, the fall of Sabah will signify the ruling coalition, one of the oldest Governments in the world, losing its fixed deposit and hence losing power after a rule of 50 over years.

CONCLUSION
The standoff in Sabah has all the trademarks of a cleverly orchestrated plan to topple the current administrators of Sabah with influence from world superpowers.

The Sulu Sultanate claim is just a smokescreen.

Common sense will show, if Sulu Sultanate wanted to claim back Sabah, why only NOW ???

PHILIPINES SENDS SHIP

The followers of the sultan of Sulu holed up in a village in Sabah, eastern Malaysia, could be flushed out Monday after the expiration on Sunday of a 48-hour extension of the Malaysian deadline for them to leave and the failure of Malacañang’s back-channel efforts to solve the standoff peacefully.
The Philippine government sent a humanitarian ship to Sabah Sunday night to bring home the women and children among the sultan’s armed followers holed up in Tanduao village in Lahad Datu town and encircled by Malaysian security forces, but the sultanate said no one would go with the mercy mission.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said in a statement that the ship would sail from Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, before midnight and stand by off Lahad Datu as Malaysian authorities talked with the sultan’ followers.
The DFA said it informed the Malaysian Embassy last Saturday that the Philippine government was sending a ship to Sabah. Malaysian foreign minister Anifah Aman told AFP, however, that he had “yet to be informed on this matter.” Ministry officials could not immediately be reached for comment.
The vessel will sail for 11 to 12 hours and is expected to arrive in Lahud Datu at noon Monday. Aboard the mercy ship were Filipino Muslim leaders, social workers and medical personnel, Philippine Foreign Secretary Albert del Rosario  said, stressing that the government “was deeply concerned” about the presence of women among the group.
Del Rosario called on “the entire group to go back to their homes and families, even at the same time, we are addressing the core issues they have raised.”
“Please do so for your own safety,” he added.
An Inquirer source said Philippine officials hoped the Malaysians would hold their fire as the mercy mission was going on “for the sake of innocent lives.”
Philippine Ambassador to Malaysia J. Eduardo Malaya said in a text message to the Inquirer: “Arrangements have been made with Malaysian authorities for the entry of the humanitarian mission to Lahad Datu.”
“Our priority is the safety and security of the women and other civilians in the group. We thank the Malaysian government for allowing the ship’s entry and their shared concern for the well-being of the civilians,” Malaya said.
An Inquirer source said the ship would also pick up any of the Sulu sultan’s armed followers who would choose to go home.
No one’s going
The Sulu sultanate said Sunday night that it was not notified about the humanitarian mission.
But Abraham Idjirani, secretary general and spokesman of the sultanate, said the Sulu sultan was thanking President Aquino for the humanitarian assistance.
Idjirani said, however, that the women among the sultan’s followers in Tanduao were “determined to stay with their husbands.”
“They won’t leave,” Idjirani told the Inquirer in a phone interview.
Del Rosario had requested Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman to work out a four-day extension of the Feb. 22 deadline to give government emissaries more time to convince Sultan Jamalul Kiram III to order his 250 followers in Tanduao to stand down and return home.
But all the Malaysian government was willing to grant was a 48-hour extension, which expired Sunday with the back-channel contact the Aquino administration had hoped could convince Jamalul to call his followers back home still in Manila.
The contact, Sultan Bantilan Esmail Kiram III, a brother of Jamalul, had changed his mind about going to Sabah to convince the sultan’s followers to lay down their arms and return home.
It remained unclear on Sunday why Esmail changed his mind about helping end the standoff without bloodshed.
Hardliner
Officials said, however, that communication lines with Esmail and the sultan remained open. They said the Malaysian government preferred to talk with Esmail because Jamalul was a hardliner.
Feeling left out of the peace negotiations between the administration of President Aquino and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), Jamalul sent a group of followers, including 250 armed men and some women and children, to Sabah to press his clan’s claim to the territory formerly known as North Borneo.
The group landed in Tanduao village on Feb. 9, drove out the residents, and occupied it to signify a presence that stood for ownership of the land that belonged to the Sulu sultanate but passed on by Britain to Malaysia in 1957 after granting independence to its colony once known as Malaya.
Malaysia leases Sabah from the descendants of the Sulu sultan for 5,300 ringgit, or P77,000, a year, a token sum that may be one of the reasons for Jamalul’s decision to order the occupation of the territory.
Jamalul’s followers, led by his brother Agbimuddin Kiram and styling themselves as the “Royal Security Forces of the sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo,” are reportedly running out of food supplies and foraging around Tanduao for root crops and vegetables as a food blockade thrown around the village by the Malaysian authorities has begun to bite.
Jamalul asked the United Nations Commission on Human Rights (UNCHR) on Feb. 20 to help his followers whose lives are threatened by the food blockade, but the UN agency had not announced a response as of Sunday.
Irresponsible, reckless
A senior diplomat blamed the crisis on the “irresponsibility and recklessness” of the heirs of the Sulu sultanate.
The diplomat said Jamalul’s order to his followers to hold their ground despite the presence of women and children among them showed the heirs’ “irresponsibility and lack of concern for civilian lives.”
It is “illogical and irrational” for Jamalul to say that his followers’ objective is peaceful when they are armed and intruding into the territory of a neighboring country, the diplomat said.
“If there is bloodshed, it will be on the Kirams’ hands and not on the government’s,” the diplomat said.
The diplomat described the heirs’ Sabah decision as “quixotic and reckless.” By going ahead with it, they have placed at risk the peace process with the MILF and all Filipinos’ expectations of peace and development in Mindanao, the diplomat said.
Taking claim to UN
The Kirams called a news conference on Friday to say that they wanted to elevate their claim to Sabah to the United Nations and to the International Court of Justice.
President Aquino has ordered a study of the Sabah claim, including a look through its history and the documents covering the lease agreement between the Sulu sultanate and Malaysia and an assessment of its validity.
Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said on Sunday that the claim would be treated separately in the future.
For now, she said, the government’s main concern was to ensure the safety of the Sulu sultan’s followers in Sabah.
Diplomats were reportedly at a meeting Sunday as the extension of the deadline for Agbimuddin’s group to leave on its own neared.
As of press time on Sunday night, there was no word from the foreign office about the result of the meeting.
Not too long
In Malaysia, Foreign Minister Anifah was reported as saying the government was “hoping the standoff will end peacefully with the latest deadline.”
Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein told reporters that he wanted the 2-week-old standoff to “end sooner than later” without bloodshed.
But he said the extended period should not be too long and his ministry would leave it to the security forces to conduct an operation to end the standoff.—With reports from The Star/Asia News Network, Christine O. Avendaño and Agence France-Press

SULTAN OF SULU SEEKS UNHCR PROTECTION.

The Sultan of Sulu has asked the United Nations Commission on Human Rights (UNCHR) to help his followers who are running out of provisions after two weeks of holing up in a village in the eastern Malaysian state of Sabah.
Sultan Jamalul Kiram III wrote the UNCHR in Manila on Feb. 20, asking for protection for 250 members of the Royal Security Forces of the Sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo whose lives, he said, were threatened by a food blockade thrown by Malaysia around the village of Tanduao in Lahad Datu town, Sabah.
Jamalul has also written to Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei asking for help in resolving the standoff in Tanduao peacefully.
The UNCHR was furnished with a copy of Jamalul’s letter to the sultan of Brunei, also dated Feb. 20.
A deadline given by Malaysia to the armed group led by Jamalul’s brother, Agbimuddin Kiram, to come out and submit to deportation expired on Friday, but the Philippines asked the Malaysians to give the sultan’s followers four more days to end the occupation of Tanduao peacefully.
But that was before Jamalul announced at a news conference in Manila on Friday that he had ordered Agbimuddin’s group to stand fast until recalled.
News of Jamalul’s defiance slowed down the Malaysian decision on the Philippine request for an extension of the deadline.
Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman notified the Home Ministry of the Philippine request on Friday but Home Minister Hishamuddin Hussein said he would leave the decision to Anifah.
It’s up to police
Hishamuddin said, however, that he would leave it to the police to conduct an operation to end the standoff with the armed group in Tanduao.
“The country’s sovereignty and the pride of the people of Sabah must not be taken for granted,” Hishamuddin told reporters on Saturday.
Abraham Idjirani, secretary general and spokesperson for the Sultanate of Sulu, said the blockade around Tanduao had reduced Agbimuddin’s group to eating root crops and vegetables found in the area.
The Malaysian authorities do not allow Tausug residents of Lahad Datu to enter Tanduao to prevent food from reaching Agbimuddin’s forces, Idjirani said.
Muzzle down
Agbimuddin remains in contact with Jamalul, Idjirani said. The two men last talked by phone on Saturday, with the younger Agbimuddin being counseled by the sultan to stay calm, Idjirani said.
The sultan, he said, also instructed Agbimuddin and the “royal security forces” to keep their muzzles down, a military term meaning carrying rifles with the muzzles pointed to the ground to signify no hostile intent.
Idjirani told the Inquirer by phone that the sultan wrote a letter to Prime Minister Najib Razak four days ago to assure the Malaysian leader that the sultanate’s followers “came to Sabah to live in peace.”
Jamalul assured Najib that the sultanate’s forces would not initiate violence but would defend themselves if attacked, Idjirani said.
As of yesterday, Idjirani said, Jamalul’s orders to Agbimuddin remained unchanged: Hold your ground.
“It’s still as is,” Idjirani said.
The administration of President Aquino refuses to intervene, as the standoff has to do with the Sulu sultan’s heirs’ claim to Sabah, part of the Sultanate of Sulu and formerly known as North Borneo.
Sabotage
Malacañang believes Jamalul’s action is aimed at sabotaging the peace talks between the Aquino administration and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
The Palace reportedly suspects that the opponents of the peace process are using Jamalul to scuttle a preliminary peace deal between the government and the MILF, among them the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), the followers of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and the President’s uncle, Jose “Peping” Cojuangco and his wife, Margarita “Tingting” Cojuangco, whose plan to run for governor of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) in 2011 went to naught after Congress postponed the regional election and synchronized it with this year’s midterm elections to give Mr. Aquino time to introduce reforms in Muslim Mindanao.
The MNLF has neither confirmed nor denied aiding Jamalul but its leader, Nur Misuari, has publicly opposed the preliminary peace agreement between the Aquino administration and the MILF.
The MNLF has said that among the members of Jamalul’s “royal security forces” are MNLF fighters.
The allies of Arroyo are silent.
Cojuangcos ‘cleared’
The Cojuangcos issued a press statement on Saturday saying President Aquino had cleared them of involvement in the Sulu sultanate’s Sabah action.
According to the statement, Mr. Aquino texted his uncle Jose “Peping” Cojuangco belying reports that he believed the couple had a hand in Jamalul’s decision to send his followers to Sabah to establish a presence there.
“Uncle Joe, we are looking for who is instigating them. Neither you nor Aunt Ting [has] been mentioned in any report to me,” the President’s text message said, according to the press statement.
The “them” in the message refers to Jamalul and his followers, whose action could endanger other Filipinos living in Sabah.
ARMM Acting Gov. Mujiv Hataman said he was trying to reach Jamalul to ask the sultan to call back his followers, as their occupation of Tanduao could adversely affect the thousands of other Filipinos living in Sabah.
Sabah’s proximity to southern Philippines makes it accessible to Filipinos from Palawan, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi. Thousands of Filipinos cross to Sabah without passports and Malaysian authorities, eager for trade and manpower for industries in Sabah, have tolerated them for years.
Immigration crackdown
But the intrusion into Sabah of an armed group led by a brother of the Sulu sultan could lead to a crackdown on undocumented Filipinos in Sabah and expulsions could rattle the economy in southern Philippines.
Hataman said he had talked with some members of the royal clan and asked them to help resolve the standoff in Sabah.
There were reports in Zamboanga on Saturday that Jamalul was going to consult his followers on what steps to take next.
Major Malaysian newspapers published reports on Saturday quoting Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin as saying on the second day of a visit to Sabah that Kuala Lumpur was “doing everything possible to work out a peaceful solution” to the standoff. With reports from Julie Alipala and Allan Nawal, Inquirer Mindanao; and The Star, Asia News Network

Adakah Patut Dihina Askar Melayu Kita?

Pasal tu lah puak-puak Pakatan meroyan bila agenda bangang dorang tak berhasil beb.. So sekarang ni dorang dah hilang akal tuduh askar melayu tak berani nak ambik tindakan keatas pengganas tu semua..

PHILIPINES SEEKS 4 More Days

The Philippines on Friday asked Malaysia to give the followers of the sultan of Sulu four more days to leave Sabah peacefully as the Filipino heirs to the resource-rich state began to review their position and plan their next move to reclaim the territory formerly known as North Borneo.
Malaysia had given an armed group led by a brother of the Sulu sultan until Friday to break up camp in Tanduao village in the coastal town of Lahad Datu, Sabah, and go home peacefully or be arrested and deported to the Philippines.
Emissaries from the administration of President Benigno Aquino III had been talking with advisers of Sultan Jamalul Kiram III to convince him to recall his followers, who were surrounded by Malaysian police, army and naval forces just waiting for orders to flush them out.
A brother of the sultan was reported as traveling to Manila from Zamboanga City to talk to him on Thursday night about the withdrawal from Sabah.
It was unclear on Friday whether Esmail Kiram II had seen and talked with the sultan, but Foreign Secretary Albert del Rosario told reporters that he had phoned Malaysian Foreign Minister Anifah Aman and asked for a four-day extension of the deadline for the expulsion of the armed group led by Agbimuddin Kiram, another brother of the sultan, from Sabah.
“I’ve spoken to the foreign minister this morning. I called him because the effort to have the Filipinos withdraw from Sabah on a peaceful basis is still a work in progress,” Del Rosario said in a brief talk with reporters.
“And even as we’re talking to the family, we’re quite not there yet. I’ve asked him for another extension and I think they’re considering it and they’re supposed to come back to me this afternoon,” Del Rosario said, referring to his Malaysian counterpart.
He said Aman “will endorse” to his government the Philippines’ request for an extension of the deadline.
As of press time Friday night, Malaysia had yet to respond to Del Rosario’s request.
The sultan’s family called a news conference on Friday to announce that Agbimuddin and his group would stay in Sabah until called home.
‘Disappointed’
Malacañang appealed to the sultan’s family to reconsider the decision, warning that it could lead to a “deterioration” of the situation in Tanduao.
“I’m disappointed to learn that the message the emissary is carrying is for them to stay put as this will not help diffuse the situation,” Interior Secretary Mar Roxas said, talking to the INQUIRER by phone on his way to the presidential Palace for a 3:30 p.m. meeting with President Aquino.
Roxas, a senior member of the Cabinet security cluster, described the decision of the sultan’s family as “unfortunate.”
“The government has been trying to facilitate the sending of an emissary from the Kiram family to Sabah precisely to alleviate and deescalate the situation,” he said.
“I am disappointed at this news because our fellow Filipinos are presently in a precarious situation,” he said, referring to Agbimuddin’s armed group holed up in Tanduao.
“Our utmost priority should be the peaceful and stable resolution of this immediate situation,” he said.
The Kirams said they were considering raising their dispute with Malaysia over Sabah to the United Nations and to the International Court of Justice, but Roxas said: “All talks about historical claims and national territories and borders can only positively happen and be fruitful in a stable atmosphere, not in this situation of tension and duress. So this would not be a helpful development.”
The President met with Cabinet members in charge of the peace process in Mindanao at the Palace at 3:30 p.m.
Mr. Aquino called the meeting for a discussion of the progress in the peace process with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, which signed a preliminary peace agreement with the government last October, but Roxas said the meeting would most likely be turned into a discussion of the Sabah standoff.
“We must separate the claim of the Kiram family and or the Republic of the Philippines from this act (standoff), which strains the ties between the two countries,” Roxas said.

Deescalation
Roxas appealed to the Kirams to support the Aquino administration’s stand for a “deescalation of the situation” to ensure the safety of Agbimuddin and his men.
He said news of the Kirams’ decision could give the signal for the Malaysian forces to move in on Agbimuddin’s group.
Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin told reporters yesterday that the Sulu sultanate’s claim to Sabah may have legal grounds, as Malaysia continues to pay rent to the sultanate for use of the territory used to be known as North Borneo.
But Gazmin said the government was still studying whether to press the claim.
He said Jamalul’s followers had no right to occupy Sabah, especially without permission from the Philippine government.
Gazmin said he and the chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Gen. Emmanuel Bautista, were talking with their Malaysian counterparts about a peaceful resolution of the standoff in Sabah.
“We agreed this should be solved amicably, peacefully, without any violence whatsover,” Gazmin said.
Who’s financier?
He said the deployment of Navy ships to the Sulu Sea was aimed at preventing the trafficking of undocumented Filipinos to Sabah.
The Philippine request for an extension of the Malaysian deadline for Agbimuddin’s group to leave Sabah could be granted.
“The Malaysians have been very cooperative,” Gazmin said. “[T]hey moved the Wednesday deadline to Friday. Probably they saw from our gestures that we are trying to resolve the issue [peacefully].”
Gazmin said an investigation had been opened to find out how the Sulu sultan’s forces acquired weapons and who could be financing them.
Come and join
The Sulu sultan’s followers crossed to Sabah and created a crisis reportedly because they felt left out of the peace process with the MILF.
But the government peace panel has been calling on the Moro royals to unite and help build the proposed Bangsamoro autonomous region in Muslim Mindanao.
“It would be good if you can [tell us what role you want to play]. Let us make the engagement more positive and constructive,” the panel’s chief, Miriam Coronel-Ferrer told the members of the Maharadjah Tabunaway Descendants Council of the Philippines during a peace forum in Cotabato City on Feb. 9.
The council counts the royal houses of Rajah Buayan and Kabuntalan in Maguindanao, Dungun in Tawi-Tawi, Sibugay in Zamboanga del Sur, and Kapatagan in Lanao del Norte.
Ferrer said that as “traditional leaders,” the royalty should be involved in the decision-making for the establishment of the Bangsamoro.
She said the royals could present their proposals during the consultations being conducted by the Bangsamoro Transition Commission.
The 15-member commission is drafting the basic law that would establish the Bangsamoro as replacement for the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
Call for unity
Yesterday a member of the Sulu royal clan called on the legitimate heirs of the Sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo to unite for a peaceful resolution of the standoff in Sabah.
“Nothing will be settled by raising our voices separately. We need to be one,” Datu Harun Narrazid of Bataraza, Palawan, said.
Narrazid, a descendant of the 27th sultan of Sulu, Harun Al-Rashid, said he was not asking his relatives to take up arms but to work together for their claim to Sabah to attract the attention it deserved.
He emphasized the importance of diplomacy to asserting the claim.
“Sabah never belonged to Malaysia,” Narrazid said by phone. “But this claim of ours, on behalf of all Filipinos, would never be given favorable resolution unless we stand united.” With reports from DJ Yap in Manila and Julie Alipala, Jeoffrey Maitem and Charlie Señase, Inquirer Mindanao
